Who I Am

I consider myself a practical vegan. I don't have a beach side apartment in Malibu or the funds to even buy avocados when they're not on sale. I'm a full time nursing student currently living in Nashville, TN. What I can offer you are the tools to make eating a plant based diet (in a not so perfect world) do-able. If I can make a beautiful, healthy meal with ingredients from Stop and Shop, so can you. You don't have to have a banana tree growing outside your home in Oahu to make veganism work. I started as a vegetarian at a very young age because I saw the pain and suffering of animals and did not want to be a part of it, and six and a half years ago, I made the switch to an all plant-based diet by expanding my knowledge on all realms of animal cruelty, including dairy and egg farmers. I'm not perfect, I'm constantly learning. When people ask me questions, it helps me grow as a person as well (which is half the fun for me with my blog). Veganism isn't about self judgment. You keep moving forward with the goal of self improvement and moral freedom. My family is my life but it hasn't always been easy living as a vegan in a non-vegan house hold. I love cooking, and through my passion, my family has learned to love the food I create for them and have even adjusted their own personal choices. My goal is to inspire you and show you that veganism isn't that hard with a helping hand.
